European Car Brands - The Best Of European Autos
European cars had their moment of glory before the US took over. Now that the US and Europe are a little down, the Asian companies like Toyota have a big market share. European car brands do continue to be innovators in their field. These cars focus on designing innovative things and space saving ideas. The do have smaller engines than their American counterparts but it is not always the size that matters more than what you get from it. Some of the big name European auto makers are: Volkswagen, Renault, Peugeot, and Citroen.
The best European car brands are popular in Europe and around the world. Some countries do not have such car brands like Canada. We cover the common ones below.
As a kid growing up in Asia I noticed that 25+ year old men loved BMW cars for their power and performance. These cars cost a bit more than your average car and come loaded with European automotive technology. Such powerful German cars are meant for the "show off" that has money and spends a lot of time in their car. Because BMW has built a strong reputation globaly, they enjoy acceptance and sales all over the world and not just in Europe. These models combine luxury, outstanding performance, sporty handling, and technology.
Ferrari is an iconic car brand that has been marketed very well for the past 40 years. In Asia, 25 years ago, I recall seeing rich people pass around a VHS tape showcasing a Ferrari. It was like a viral video but in the old-school way of VHS tapes. This underground marketing of a European car brand established its name globally. Not only that, but it also established that the red color and the horse logo belong to Ferrari even though customers can order other colors for their autos. What is Ferrari known for? Sport cars and prestige cars. You can expect some models to have a lot of power and a monster noisy engine having a deep roar. Any car-enthusiast would love to drive one due to excellent performance, comfort, and high-tech features.
Audi may be named the best European car brand by many but I personally do not like Audi cars. The name reminds me of a local bank and the colors/designs seem like these cars were meant for women. Having said that, Audi is a leader when it comes to quality and luxury. They make some great looking cars that drive very well even in bad weather conditions.
Aston Martin is a British car brand from Europe that has appeared in the James Bond movie. It is very luxurious on the inside and powerfully fast on the outside. They somewhat remind me of Jaguar with some of their designs and target market. Some people have considered Aston Martin to be "grand touring cars" rather than "sports cars".
Mercedes Benz, Volkswagen and Alfa Romeo
By now, I think you have realized how amazing European car brands are and how well known they are. The last three European car brands we cover today are Mercedes Benz, Volkswagen and Alfa Romeo. They are all popular European car brands with a world-wide reputation. They are known to quality and especially Mercedes is known in Asia for its ability to last for years and year. The first two car brands offer affordable luxury and great quality. This prestige & luxury might be considered as "higher end" by many and some families take pride in owning such cars or even giving them as gifts to a new bride. Mercedes and Volkswagen are both German car brands actually. The Volkswagen Jetta did not have a good reputation among my friends since it had many problems and was a little expensive to fix since not all mechanics have the proper tools for this car. Remember that iconic Volkswagen Beetle? On the other hand Alfa Romeo focuses on attractive and sporty cars.
