German Car Brands - The Best Of German Cars
German cars are known globally for their engineering and high-class style. Rich and poor people love to be driven around in a Mercedes for example. The car brands in Germany make 6 million cars annually making it the fifth in the World. The history of such car brands in Germany is facinating when you look back at the 4-stroke engine by Mr. Benz.
Germany makes the best cars globally and these German car brands discussed below come with the latest innovation and are known for their durability. Having said that, I find that some of them are expensive to maintain.
Audi was made from four companies and when they merged, the logo with four circles was made. Many consider it to be in the top three German car brands since it produces cars of all sizes in multiple countries. I mentioned before on the site that Audi was not my favourit brand simply because of their attitude but they are a German car brand that is respected by many.
One other car manufacturer in the top 3 German car brands is Mercedes Benz. Again, this brand is in demand globally an is synonymous with quality and high-class. Interestingly, Mercedes Benz produces trucks and school buses too. It is headquartered in Stuttgart.
The final top 3 car brand is BMW. They started in 1916 around the same time as the others above and are headquartered in Munich. BMW purchased Mini and Roll-Royce but it is also known for making SUV's and Motorcycles. It is common to find people that own one BMW car and one BMW motorcycle.
VW is branded as the "car of the people" and their slogan in the ads is "this is a car" (das auto). This brand too was started in the early 1900's by Ferdinand Porsche. Does that name sound familier? It turns out that Mr. Porsche was tasked to make the iconic VW beetle for the German government. One thing I did not know was how big the Volkswagen Group is. They own so many car brands such as: SEAT, Skoda, Rolls-Royce, Bentley, Laborghini, Porsche, and Bugatti.
It seems that the time in which Ferdinand Porsche lived, was a great time to start a car company poised for success. One would wonder that happened in Germany from 1920 to 1980 to make these startup companies so great. Porsche makes sports car only and historically, they included features like a remote starter when such a feature was unheard of in mainstream cars. They look great and perform great thus turn heads.
